boolit opinion

I have never ordered from that company but never heard anything bad either.

They sell the same bullet in a 100 count package. If your not sure they will shoot well order 100 and give them a try before you order 2000.

I have gone through almost 1,000 of the 230/gr .45acp
They have been great.
Well made and consistent in my opinion.

It has been over a year since I bought them, but they shipped promptly and they were well packaged.

I've been buying those for many years. They're great jacketed bullets & a pretty good bargain as long as you're willing to order a bunch. Their minimum order is OK with me - bullets don't go bad like food.

Thanks for the input everyone. Looks like QC hasn't dropped off a cliff so I will get 100 to test before I plunk down for 5K boolits.

I was not aware of the buffalo chip requirement. Can I call them boolits if I pass them through the smoke of a flaming bag of dog doo?

Pete, once you have a chance to try your 100 samples let us know how they work for you. I might consider these in the future.

I have used a bunch of their RN bullets in 45acp and 9mm. Good quality and good price if you order at least 2000 at a time to get the discount. I have never used their HP. Not sure what your intended purpose is. If you are looking for expansion for SD purposes, I would double check with them that they are intended for that purpose. Not all HP bullets are meant for reliable expansion.

These are my "go to" guys for 9MM and 45 APC bullets. None better in their price range, and only a pinch more than plated bullets. Biggest drawback? They don't make bullets for revolvers!! :(

I just prefer HP over RN. They will be used for plinking so ultimate accuracy is not needed but they need to be consistent.

But he's goin to shoot it in an ottomatick not a revo.
Seems like he oughta have some sense o histry when he's talkin about his unloader.

Damn this made me laugh. I really was not aware of the whole "boolit" thing but now I know.

I've loaded about a thousand of these bullets, and have another 1000 on the shelf waiting to be loaded. The ones I've loaded have been very consistent, but be aware (unless they have changed the design) they are hollow points but not expanding bullets. They are target bullets, not for SD loads. I like them better than the RN because there is no exposed lead at the base of the bullet.

product update

Just in case anyone is interested I got my bullets today. I ordered 100 to give them a try before I order 5k to restock.

I grabbed 10 at random and measured them. I didn't weigh them because my scale only goes up to 100 grains. I got the 124 grain JHP.

Diameter Length
.3545 .5825
.3545 .5795
.355 .5815
.355 .581
.355 .5815
.355 .5815
.3545 .5815
.355 .5805
.355 .5815
.355 .582
These numbers look pretty good to me. I measured each bullet twice and got the same measurement both times so I am comfortable with the accuracy of the results.

I will try to get 100 loaded up this week to see how they shoot. I will run a ladder starting at 5.3 grains working up to 5.9 (max load for BE-86). I will figure out my COAL once I get them running through the press.

I bought 2k of them about 3 months ago. I think I paid $89.00/thousand. They look as good in person as the pictures shows. Their diameter is consistent and I weighed about 50 of them and compared the results to 50 XTPS.

The weight of the Precision Delta varied about .1gr more than the xtps that cost over twice as much.

I was very happy with that. At $8.90 per hundred I believe them to be a very good deal.

If my test batch shoot have way decent then I will be placing a good sized order.

Pete

I've had thousands and thousands of those over the years, in various calibers. Never a problem. To get a good price, you need to order at least a few thousand at a time, though.

I never noticed exceptional accuracy with any of their offerings, though. Good for plinking, but I never had stellar results wrt accuracy.

Today, I just go with RMR bullets. Their match plated are excellent, imo.
