I would like to buy a couple boonie hats, but I want to make sure they are either USGI, or at least American made.

Does anyone know of any that would fit that bill?

These would be used mostly for Highpower shooting.

I have one made by Propper, which I found at an camping/outdoors store. I don't know if it is USGI but it has an NSN.

NSN = national stocking number. Sort of a SKU code for the fed.gov.

Edit: I misread the question as asking for the item's NSN.

You should be able to get them at any surplus store or gunshow. A boonie is my usual headgear at the range. They are great for keeping brass out of your collar.

The best "hot brass boogie" I've seen was when a shooter had a hot case go down the back of his (tucked in) shirt.:D

Ask any of your family or friends who served. They should have a bunch. My dad has a bunch accumulated after 20 years in the Air Force.

That way you can score one for free or real cheap, and it's authentic.

You can also get one from an AAFES store for about $10 last time I checked. Not sure about the Marine/Navy exchanges since I haven't been out to Pendleton or San Diego in a while.
