Border War Heating up? Slain Immigrant Called 9th Victim in Arizona Spree

PHOENIX (Reuters) - A Mexican man who was found shot to death in a rural area outside Phoenix appears to be the ninth victim in a string of execution-style murders of illegal immigrants, police said on Wednesday.
The body of the unidentified man was found early on Wednesday by a passerby, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said. Arpaio said the victim, who was in his 30s, had been shot at close range, his hands bound behind his back.

"We're positive that all the murders are related," Arpaio told Reuters.

Eight other illegal immigrants have been slain since last March, killed in much the same manner before being dumped by the roadside. All the victims were male, bound before they were killed and all but one of those murdered was shot.

Unlike the other killings, Arpaio said the body found Wednesday had been recently murdered and was in a different area from where the other bodies were discovered.

Arpaio said he worries that more bodies are still undiscovered throughout the sprawling area.

"It used to be this would happen near the border," he said. "Now the killing fields seem to be in the big metropolitan city of Phoenix."

Investigators have struggled to pin down a motive for the murders and have speculated that it could be smugglers, drug traffickers or even vigilantes angry over illegal immigration. Police say little progress have been made in the case, partly because potential witnesses are reluctant to come forward out of fear they will be harmed or deported.

Alan Hubbard, administrative officer for the Mexican consulate in Phoenix, could not be reached for comment.

Hubbard has said that the spate of killings had generated a deluge of telephone calls from concerned people on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. The incidents also have been brought to the attention of high-level officials in the Mexican government in hopes of generating leads in the case.

Sounds like the smugglers of humans and drugs and terrorists (terrorists aren't human BTW, they merely resemble them) have decided that they need only to shoot a few of their "customers", and leave them to be found near large cities, and wait for the bleeting of the sheeple to begin.

After a little bleeting, the .gov will round up all of the citizens that are actually trying to stop the relentless invasion OF OUR COUNTRY!!!!! And TA DA!!!!!! It's back to business as usual. Free reign to come and go as they please.

Imagine what a valuable asset sheeple could be if only we could find ways to manipulate them that are half as clever.:fire: :fire: :fire: :cuss: :cuss: :banghead:

Jmbg29,
Great minds think alike! That was my first reaction, smoke screen.
I would think that if it were vigilanties, there would be a heck
of a lot more than 9 in the last 12 months.
More than likely somebody caught with his hand in the cookie jar!

"Slain Immigrant"?

They aren't Immigrants ... Immigrants come through customs with visas and other such paperwork. These people are trespassers (not that they deserve to die for trespassing, but lets not make them out to be innocents, as pure as the wind driven snow  )

I have to say...

I am getting a little tired of this term “Border Warâ€. Anybody that thinks things are “heating up†is just succumbing to hype, or trying to create the hype. With some minor exceptions, things are the same as they were 20, 40, 60, even 70 years ago. Granted there are more attempted (and successful) border crossings, and there are more drugs coming across than back then, but most of the blame for that can be placed squarely at the feet of Clinton/Reno and others of their ilk.

Do you know when the first Border Patrol Agent was killed (went by a different title then)? 1919. The Border Patrol in its various configurations, has had more officers killed than any other federal law enforcement agency except the US Marshals and the BATF (and most of those, about 120 of 182, came from prohibition days), and that is including the Coast Guard, FBI, Secret Service, Customs, etc. In fact the BP has had more officers killed in the line of duty than almost all other fed agencies combined. There have been more Border Agents killed than just about any other Law Enforcement agency out there, be it local or federal. More than the Texas Rangers, more than the Dallas PD, in fact, more than any other law enforcement agency in the entire states of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. The only border state with more law enforcement deaths is California. Death and danger on the border is an old, old story. Read Bill Jordan or Skeeter Skelton and see if you still think things are “heating upâ€. Its the same old same old on the border.

I know this particular story is talking about deaths of illegals, but my point remains. Nothing has changed on the border except the names of the men...on both sides.

I am starting to think that nothing can be done to stop this invasion of iligals into this state. Short of a Berlin wall set up running for thousands of miles I don't think it is ever going to end.

I can ASSURE you IF Illeagals are killed crossing border bring the ground penetrating radar to find bodies!:D
