I have about decided to keep my 308 .It is most accurate rifle I have owned.
I am currently using a universal bore guide.I am thinking of ordering a Mike Lucas guide.I have one for my 257 weatherby and it was by far best ive ever had. What are your thoughts on using a universal bore guide or one made exactly for gun.The trouble with the one I use the bolt is so big I have to stuff a paper towel under to get it centered Does anyone know who make a bore guide to fit a TC Icon

I agree there the best I have saw I had him make one for my 257 weatherby worked like a dream was 29.95 then 62.95 now :(

Ah well... small price to pay for quality and good care of your chamber and throat. Besides, when the original barrel goes TU and you drop $600 for a nice Krieger barrel... that rod guide will still work just fine. :D

creeper id love to have a Krieger on it is my dream barrel im assuming a TC Icon can be rebarrelled cant they

Sure... but you have a nice 5R barrel that should last you for several thousand shots before things start to open up... so plenty of time to save up for that Krieger. ;)

thats true creeper so far it has shot extremely good only at about 30 rounds but seems to shoot better each time. Why id like to find a good bore guide and action cleaning kit my only thing i wished I had gotten stainless

creeper I just went to Sinclair and found a bore guide for 18.95 and I can get a action cleaning kit also for less than the Lucas one

I've tried about every bore guide that has come on the market, and some that haven't. The Lucas guide is quite good, and so are those offered by Sinclair. The best of the best are those made by T.K Noland, but be prepared to pay.

Action cleaning tool, check

I just cut Q-tips in half, feed them thru a .22 eyelet, clip the excess and all's good. To secure the Q-tips a little better sometimes I incorporate a twist tie.
