Boston Point Shooting Training

On October 10-14 the Mass. Assoc. of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors will be holding it's annual training conference about 20 miles west of Boston.
Many courses will be offered, including handgun point shooting by my Swedish Police friends, Ulf and Peter.
I will be doing a rifle point shooting class, which will include aimed fire, semi aimed fire, point shoulder, underarm assualt, weapon strikes and weapon retention.

point shooting in southern california?

Hello Matthew.

I would like to attend a pointshooting class. Does anyone teach this in California? I'm near Los Angeles.

I've read Applegates Kill or Get Killed, Fairbairn's Shooting to Live, and Bullseyes Don't Shoot Back.

I've also read Fairbairn's Get Tough.

I practice instinctive point shooting at the range. My range only allows single shots, though. I'm getting better with every practice session. I usually shoot around 200 round with each practice, correcting my mistakes as best I can by myself.

I'm scheduled for a Tactical Handgun class this Saturday. Going to shoot 1200 rounds over 12 hours, including movement, different positions and night-time firing.

My class this weekend should be fun. I'll keep my mouth shut and my ears open to learn anything useful. I'm pretty sure this guy teaches shooting with the sights. But I'm not taking his class to convert him to pointshooting techniques.

Although a latecomer to the point shooting bandwagon, Gabe Suarez teaches point shooting as well as some very effective tactical courses and quite often teaches in the L.A. area.
