Where is it being reported that the cops kicked the wrong door? They may have, I dont know, and from the information posted, no one else here does either.

Unless illegal drugs were recovered by the cops at the scene, it was the wrong house. Even if the warrant had the correct address.

LightningJoe:Keeping the lid on what? Cans of coffee grounds and dryer sheets?

The woman's niece, Sarah Dozier, says that she bought her aunt a gun to protect herself and that her aunt had a permit for the gun. Relatives believe Johnston was frightened by the officers and opened fire.

"They kicked her door down talking about drugs, there's no drugs in that house. And they realize now, they've got the wrong house," Dozier said. "I'm mad as hell." Officials say they had the correct house and that the warrant they had was legal.

Now, I could be wrong. I know people of all ages commit crimes, but somehow I doubt granny was slingin' dope. Maybe it was a grandson selling from her house, I don't know. The point is, somewhere, someone seems to have missed a critical piece of information.
It happens all too frequently in this "war".

Sindawe:You're killin' me, man. coffee cans. I snorted coke all over my keyboard.

My point exactly. No one here knows if drugs were recovered or not. I have been looking for stories about this incident and cannot find anything new.

Ever time some banger in the hood is shot by the police, you hear family members say the same thing.

All Im saying is no one knows yet what happened.

no doubt the apologists will mumble something about officer safety and compliance. it does not really matter one bit to them if an innocent civilian is murdered. after all, her life has no value at all compared to an officer's life.

I'd be willing to bet they will have a better story in a few days.

You dont know the woman was innocent yet.

The High Road indeed.

I'm sure we will. Shades of Corey Maye. It has been my observation that when the "authorities" do find what they were looking for, they are pretty quick to trot the goods out for all to see.

Hmmm... never heard of the concept of "Innocent until PROVEN guilty" eh?

How weird would it be to have been able to tell her the way she would die back in the day?

"You will die at the ripe old age of 93. Oh, and with a smoking gun in your hand... shot dead by the police returning fire."

I bet she'd never have believed it.

If drugs were recovered at the scene you can be guaranteed that the police would have informed the media who would have then reported it.

Did you notice on the Fox video clip where the female anchor was trying to figure out what kind of gun was used? $10 says she was hoping it would be an "assault" rifle (because apparently us non LEO types can't hit the broad side of a barn with anything less).

One thing that concerns me is that the police seem to be willing to execute a "dynamic entry" on the word of an (anonymous?) informant without doing any other investigative work to see if the information is indeed accurate (or even likely).

Would be an easy way to get the cops to seriously hassle (and maybe kill) people you don't like. "Yeah, Bob over there has LOTS of drugs in his house ... yeah, thats it ... drugs and kiddie porn!" (that'll teach him for letting his dog pee in my yard heh heh heh).

You gotta realize that if most police departments are willing to do this (especially with plain clothes officers in the dark of night) than we could ALL easily be placed in this woman's position.

Just wanted to add, and this will be my final say in this thread, is that anyone who believes that the shooting of a 92 year old black woman by the police in Atlanta Ga will be covered up, is an idiot.

Hey, yea, I got an idea! Lets all fantasize about killing cops that bust down the wrong door!

Sometimes you people make me sick.

Folks, until the facts are in, we don't know what happened - only fragmentary news reports. Let's shut this down until we know for sure, OK?
