doubleh,
How did your barrel look after shooting? How did it clean up?
I got to the range with my new RR Johnny Boy 6.5" 22LR/22WMR combo. I cleaned and lubed the revolver before the range trip. I fired 12-shot test groups at 25 yards, shooting with my wrists on a rest, with Winchester Super-X, CCI Standard Velocity, Federal bulk box, and Eley Target .22LR ammo. It liked the CCI SV and Eley Target best.
For .22WMR, I tried Winchester Universal bulk box (plated bullet) and three jacketed bullet loads: Winchester Super-X gray box 40 gr. JHP, and two different CCI MaxiMag loads (40gr. FMJ and HP). The Winchester gray box shot best.
My eyes are too old for handgun sights but I was getting most every shot in the black at 25 yards with the ammo it liked (NRA Timed and Slow Fire 20-yard pistol target: 3.75" diameter black section).
I probably shot a total of around 200 rounds. When I got home to clean it, the barrel showed some leading. I brushed it for 50 passes, then wet the bore with Hoppes and let it sit for a few hours. More brushing and patches showed lead still coming out. I repeated this a few more times, then tried a worn .22 brush wrapped with some ChoreBoy. Lead is still coming out. I can feel and see slight roughness about an inch down the bore from the muzzle and also feel a loose spot about halfway down the bore.
I don't expect much for $150 and I'm very happy with the accuracy. I'm just bummed that I've spent hours trying to get the bore clean (and haven't yet succeeded!)
