I found an ad for a NIB Benchmade 730BT Ares Axis on a local website for $100 and bought it for my birthday today. It is my first carry knife and I really like it. Very functional and it looks great with the black blade and burgandy/black handle. This could be the start of a new addition for me. What do you guys think of this model.

The 730 is my favorite Benchmade model (although I like pretty much all of the Axis models). I wish I had picked up the Black handled Knife-of-the-Month when it was available (would round out my 730/735 collection). I really like the blade shape.size, and the Axis mechanism functions beautifully. Very nice knife, and also nice to have a choice other than black :)

Well, I christened it today at work with my own blood. I was closing it one-handed and left the back of my ring finder under the blade. I didn't even draw my finger across the blade, just closed the blade down on it and came away with a neat little cut that bled more than I would have thought. I am very impressed.
