Well we went to the gun monger after work and picked up the .41 magnum Marlin Lever. I guess the wife was sick of me saying I want a lever action for four years.
It fills a niche for me. I wanted a pistol caliber lever action carbine that held 10 rounds, looked good and packed a decent punch. I also enjoy the fact that not everybody and their brother has one and since variety is the spice of life I am glad to add a new caliber to the fold. Twoblink and his tactical logistics ideas are shaking their collective heads at me right now I just know it.
Anyway I have only torn it down, cleaned it and function tested some rounds in it just by cycling them but so far all looks good.
The rifle is a looker. Very nice wood for a modern CAD/CAM mass produced gun and the checkering looks and feels nice. The rifle is tight and feels well put together. Everybody seems to love Marlin levers and I have nothing but praise for my 882SS so we shall see.
So what kind of ammo should I be looking for. What grain, bullet type etc. I know that I need to stay away from pointy bullets in tube magazine but other than that what should I look for. How about hollow points?
Well any sage advice would be appreciated. Here are some pics for those, like me, who like a little online gun show now and then.
