'bout time for a gun movie thread, isn't it?

I agree,
Once Upon A Time In The West was a masterpiece.

Also gotta add The Gauntlett for most shots fired:
- Shooting a house 'till it collapses
- Shooting a cop car 'till it has more holes than a screen door
- The bus at the end

I think I saw the end to that movie on cable a few weeks ago. I kept thinking about the end scene where all the cops were shooting up the bus and how hard it was to swallow. With all the shots fired I didn't notice the fuel tank getting ruptured or the engine being disabled, even a bus engine couldn't take that kind of abuse. Plus, weren't they shooting at the bus from both sides? without cover? Guess that's why it's the movies.

There is one sceen in a movie called "Enemy of the State" with will smith and gene hackman.

The sceen at the end with mobsters in the resturant. The pistol fight to me is very acurate. It only last for about 4 seconds

Almost Too True To Life To Watch:

"Savior" (About one sniper) Warning: Not for kids to watch - No, not just the sniper killings, but what other 'soldiers' do to civilians.

"Shot Through The Heart" (About two snipers) A true story, unfortunately

Plus all the others already mentioned...
"Enemy at the Gates"
"Band of Brothers"
"Black Hawk Down"
"We Were Soldiers"
"Saving Private Ryan"
"Behind Enemy Lines"
"Quigley DU"
"Magnum Force" I liked it better than Dirty Harry
"Sniper"
and so on...

Heat would probably be at the top of my list.
Just watched Appaloosa, and it was really good. Fairly realistic western gun fights for once. I don't think any lasted more than 5-10 seconds.

lol...I wasn't even paying attention. I'm using Firefox, and I had one Tab open with "New Posts" and one tab open from some search I did...

I guess I clicked into this thread from the wrong tab

Has anyone mentioned "Enemy At The Gates?"

Ronin:

Spence: We got shooters here and here. I tell you an old trick.
Sam: (sets down coffee cup on chair) Hey... (erases the white board)
Spence: What's your problem?
Sam: Draw again. Draw it again. You're the ace field man. Draw it again. It's a simple diagram. Just draw it again. Draw what you saw. Draw it again! Draw it again!
Sam: [Spence remains silent. Sam takes the marker and draws on the board] Two shooters. Car comes through here. Shooters across each other. Kill each other dead. Oh my, where'd you learn that?
Spence: In the regiment.
Sam: What regiment was that?
Spence: The 22nd Special Air Service.
Sam: What's the color of the boathouse at Hereford?
[repeats]
Spence: I don't like your attitude!
Sam: What's the color of the boathouse -...
Spence: %$#& off!
Sam: What's - you got the gun. I'm unarmed. Do something. Go ahead. Do something. DO SOMETHING.
[Spence spills the coffee cup and Sam subdues him]
Sam: Tell me about an ambush. I ambushed you with a cup of coffee!

My favorites, in no particular order, Although Dirty Harry is in the Top 3 of all time regardless. I'm sure I'm missing some.

Dirty Harry
Magnum Force
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Big Jake
No Country for Old Men
Way of the Gun
Predator
Quigley Down Under
Tombstone

"3:10 to Yuma" made me want to sell my wife's wedding ring and pick up a S&W Schofield.

"Dark Blue" made me glad I was never hired by LAPD but you've got to love movie with lines like "That's my daddy's gun... and the only reason this city's here is because they built it with bullets!" and "The S.I.S. doesn't have a jail so if you knock one down, make sure he stays down." and "The choke hold saved lives, but, ah, nobody ever got elected saying that, I suppose."

"Training Day" also make me glad I stayed away from LAPD but I had a hell of time not running to the store to pick up a second S&W 4006 so I could tap the slides together. (I know, I know, Denzel had 4506s)

And finally I don't care if it wasn't a movie but I've always wanted the excuse to say, "But if your hand touches metal, I swear by my pretty floral bonnet, I will end you.”
