Gentleman & Ladies;

I have to share....Last Friday I went bow hunting. I am in East Texas and was hunting public land on Wright Pattman Lake. The weather was miserable for hunting, hot, humid, and there were 1X10 to the 23rd mosquitoes with a few yards radius.

I had been in class all day working on my thesis for my MS and was really not in the mood to hunt, but a close friend talked me into it.

I climbed a tree with my climber, and had been in the tree for about 20 minutes when I saw my deer. A gorgeous 8 point. I shot him at 12 yards with my bow.

Great hunt, but I must give my friend all the credit, he scouted the area and showed me the spot.

Thanks for allowing me to share.

Good job, Charles! That is a beauty. I have taken quite a few deer with a bow, but they have all been antlerless. I'd love to take one like that. Congratulations!

Thanks, Kingcreek.

The bow is a couple of year old Browning Mirage set at 70# with an 80% let off. The arrows were Easton 28 inch 2315 with 4 inch vanes and the broadheads are 100 gr 3 bladed Muzzy broadheads. The deer went about 60 yards after a single quartering away shot.

I was hunting in a climber and was about 18 feet up.

I must highly recommend the Therma Cell to all October deer hunters.

I must confess that bow hunting is by far the most exciting hunting I have ever been involved in.

Again, thanks for letting me share!

Ah yes, the satisfaction of taking game with a bow.

Isn't it a great feeling! I've taken several with a compound and last year a buddy of mine gave me a Browning recurve. I plan on using that on my next bow hunt.

Congrats on your sucess. Bowhunting truely is a rush.
