BP or Pyrodex which is better?

I doubt this gun is a flinter, but if it is black powder and black powder only is your choice.

Then there are some guys whon like to mess around and use 10 grains of real black powder to set off the rest of their like black powder charge.

Usually that works like real bp as prime in the pan, and 10 grains in t5he bore, the rest what ever else you will use as the charge..

I have 2 cap and ball six shooters and thest of my guns are flinters.. I just by black powder.

Most of my supply was bought long ago and the price tags say $4.95..

but what it does leave will cause major barrel rusting unless cleaned very soon after shooting.

I have to agree. Out of all the pepole that I shoot with they all clean there guns the same day. As do I. Clean it after you shoot you will be fine.

I spray Balistol on my C&Bs after a match and let them sit for 3-5 days before I clean them. Gives the Balistol a chance to loosen all the crud, so it just rinses or wipes off without much scrubbing.

I will agree on the issue of pyro being worse than black.It shot well in my tc hawkin but I was in a hurry one day,[for those of us who remember the ad of being less corrosive] and now I have a green mt 1 in 28.
