Brady: AFTER SELLING OUT POLICE, BUSH TAKES DELIVERY OF THE PAYOFF

Some cities have to lose first

Indianapolis "Bart Peterson" mayor has a PD that was sitting on about 250 AR15 type rifles and may still be distributing them. They lost an officer from someone who should have been in a hospital. Or in an adult daycare. I do not know all the details. Last word the training will be provided and all arms will be in the hands of those patrol officers with the skills and duties to allow for their rapid deployment.

Bush did nothing to stop the ban, as far as I know. The House did all the work. Anyone who thinks otherwise is almost certainly engaging in wishful thinking. Giving in to the desperate desire to have somebody good to vote for this year, not just somebody who's less awful.

During the firearms manufacturer liability restriction debate. the White House publicly announced that it wanted a clean bill, with no amendments. Given that the only major amendment at that time was the AWB renewal, the White House sent a clear message that the AWB was an issue that shouldn't be coming up. That's how these things get done.

The wishful thinking is to disregard the evidence in order to justify antagonism. Is Bush perfect? No. But he handled the situation perfectly. The fact that so many of those he benefited can't see that is more disturbing than his statements.

If I needed just one more reason to vote for Bush, it would be to insure that Brady couldn't spin a Kerry victory as a referendum on the AWB fight. If Kerry wins, you'll see them do just that. "America wants the AWB back and elected Kerry to do it."

I wonder if the Brady Campaign can do anything but lie anymore.

You look up NRA data and it comes right from Gorvernment Documents. You look at Brady "studies" and it obvious in about 5-10 minutes that they are making this stuff up, and people still believe them.

If someone could post an ad, or anything that Brady has produced that is 100% true, I would be astonished.

Ok now I'm worried. In my county the biggest threat would be stoned teens. What do they need those rifles for?

According to Brady, assault weapons are only good for killing a large group of people in a short amount of time.

So I would not be going to any rave parties or the like in your town, the police are likely to breakdown the door and kill everyone inside, if I understand the Brady bunch correctly.

The headline should read: "AFTER TRYING TO SELL OUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, THE BRADY BUNCH REMAIN AT LARGE"

If there are so many AK's, uzis and the so called assault weapons in neighborhoods, then how come only 2% of gun crimes are committed with them. Ive seen tons of guns around the neighborhood....but only have i seen 1 so called assault weapon amongst them!!!!!

So if only 2% of the guns are "assault weapons" then how are the cops in any more danger by letting the bill expire.?

Ok I got it I will buy an M-1 modify the stock so it has a pistol grip, folding stock, and detachable magazine (still 8 rounds), and then the Brady poeple
can accuse me of trying to massacre the worshipers at the nearest church:banghead:

Ahhhhhhh behold the power of stupid.

Saying that the purpose of the so called AWs, or any weapon for that matter, is to "kill people" is deliberately disingenuous. A weapon is clearly defined as an instrument of attack or defense, which can be used in a number of ways to that end, not the least of which (and perhaps the most common, ironically) is to deter one's enemy by the mere presence of the thing. From an engineering standpoint, the firearm's "purpose" is to chamber and fire a projectile. Nothing more, nothing less, aside from the extraneous issues of loading, pressure, action, and so on and so forth. None of which has to do with ending human life.

Killing is simply a side effect of violence, no matter the weapon. You might as well say that computers were designed to pirate as much software as possible in the shortest amount of time, and then ban them for that reason.
