Bragging a bit...

I just finished my first full refinish on a firearm. I took a Winchester 94 in .30-.30 that had rust pocks all over it and refinished the metal and the stock. I rust blued the reciever (damn Winchester copper wash), hot salt blued the barrel, lever, hammer, and mag tube, and Nitre blued the front sight hood, the rear sight, the barrel bands, screws, and custom metal butt-plate. I also refinished the stock to take out the scrapes and dings. The pictures aren't very good, they don't do it justice.

May I say the whole thing is beautiful. I just don't have that kind of patience .. You do great work.....................MUTT

Thanks mutt. It only took 33.5 hours. There were parts I would have liked to redo and would have had this been a customer gun. The nitre blueing came out lighter than I would have liked, but it actually looks a lot better than I thought it would. I'm not sure what the next project will be, but I do have a butchered 1920 commercial Luger that will get done one of these days...

That is absolutely incredible, the stock in particular. It shines through even with the blurry photos!

The stock took about an hour a day for about 7 days... Lots of hand rubbed coats. This gun is a gift for my father, so I wanted it done right. I'll post pictures of the Luger when I finish it. I'm going to attempt to recreate the straw gold coloring from the original Lugers. And I'm going to rebarrel it to 9mm from .30 Luger so I can actually shoot it...
