Brand new millett red dot, has a dark green lense in it???

I have a millett sp1 on my super redhawk. It has a slight bluish tint to it, that I've never been that happy with, but for what it is I figure it's fine. It works great and seems to hold it's zero. So I wanted to buy a red dot for my muzzleloader and went back to the same exact scope from millett. This one has a dark greenish blue tint to it! It's dark enough that you could not possibly use this for shooting at game in woods. Do you think they are shipping a junk product now? Just poor quality control? Maybe I should spend the cash and just get an ultra dot. Either way, this one's going back. Probably won't get a replacement by Friday so will be stuck with open sights again.

Is it just a screw off filter? I had one on my Bushnell red dot. When I looked through it, everything was super dark, but the dot stood out. I just took the filter off.
