Brand new S&W 640 Pre-Lock!!!

WOOHOO, I just brought home my NIB S&W 640 Pre-Lock!

The trigger pull is SO SWEET, better than any S&W I've ever shot or held before... no kidding.



It feels GREAT in my pocket Desantis Nemesis holster! The perfect weight. It feels solid but not too heavy. This has instantly become my favorite CCW!

What is the best ammunition for SD? Right now I have 130 grain Federal Hydra-Shok .357 magnums...

125 grain .357's are basically known as one of, if not THE best rounds for self-defense. However, since its a short-barreled revolver you might want to look into some of the short-barreled loads, which i think speer and possibly some other companies make. Nice looking gun, thanks for the pic.

Depends, is it a 357 Magnum or a 38 Special?

I carry 38SPL +P 135 grn gold dots. I have the hydrashoks too but they don't expand too well after penetrating gelatin so I don't carry them.

If I could find some around here, I would carry the +P 158grn Lead Semi-wadcutter Hollow Points. Alot of the older +P guns are made for this load and it is considered by many to be the most street proven load for the 38spl.

Nice boom stick Kashton. Certainly made a wise choice for ccw. I'll post a pic of the 640's cousin, the 649 we picked up about a week ago. 357 also, Great minds think alike!

Very nice - I like the Speer 158 gr Gold Dots out of my 3" 65, you might give them a try.
