Hello Everyone.

Good afternoon. My local gun range is selling some brass for $3.50 a pound. Is that a good deal for brass? Was looking to get some 38 spl, 9mm, and 45acp. Dunno if that is a good deal or not.

Thanks.

Yes. In this market, Hell yes. I figure that's around 115/pound for 9mm and 105/pound for 38 spcl. At 3.50/lb you are golden. You could clean it and make a tidy profit, or keep it and count yourself lucky.

I've also seen some of the brass dealers online who buy brass that is no longer loadable. Some either buy it out right, or extend credit toward purchases.

Considering the scrap brass price is about half that, even if half of this is stuff you can't use yourself, you can sell it on once it's sorted. It's a screaming good deal.

If jstein650 is correct (105/38 spl) that's a screamin deal!

Just check prices on gunbroker.com & you'll see what I mean.

Local salvage yards are paying 1.45 a pound for shell brass. This price has been steady for 18 months.

I coppied this from somewhere a good while back, you can figure out how much your paying for each piece.
