Retired and left Connecticut to Florida. Got a non resident carry permit for ct . Can only by a long gun! My question. I drive up with hand gun in car witch I can carry but am I breaking the law driving into the state?

You still have all of those states in between like MD, NJ, NY.

Is the gun you're wanting to bring legal to have in CT?

What does the non-resident permit say it's valid for? That "should" tell you. Otherwise call the CT state police and ask would be the route I would probably take.

Not 100% sure what you're asking. What is this about a long gun? Are you saying CT has a carry permit for long guns? Are you asking if the bringing the gun through the states that you pass through on the way to CT is legal?

There's no reason to assume that the state police know the law or would tell you the truth if they did.

The McClure Volkmer Act of of 1986 allows for interstate transport of firearms from one state to another. Conditions must be met, as to accessiblity of the items and legality of items in the states from and to.
As a Florida and Rhode Island resident I’ve been moving back and forth for 15 years. No problems. As a Florida CCW holder only New York, New Jersey and Connecticut would give me concern. I carry where legal, lock it away where not.

Hundreds of people in ct are getting notices of transactions that were done in 2014 state looking for paper work by dec 20?? I think I’ll just go back to flordia

I’m assuming you, like my self, are a Florida resident. If so how could the state demand anything if you. Do you still own property in Ct.

My buddy who still lives in ct received letter. Transaction was between he and I
