Not 100% sure what you're asking. What is this about a long gun? Are you saying CT has a carry permit for long guns? Are you asking if the bringing the gun through the states that you pass through on the way to CT is legal?Retired and left Connecticut to Florida. Got a non resident carry permit for ct . Can only by a long gun! My question. I drive up with hand gun in car witch I can carry but am I breaking the law driving into the state?
There's no reason to assume that the state police know the law or would tell you the truth if they did. What does the non-resident permit say it's valid for? That "should" tell you. Otherwise call the CT state police and ask would be the route I would probably take.

Hundreds of people in ct are getting notices of transactions that were done in 2014 state looking for paper work by dec 20?? I think I’ll just go back to flordiaThe McClure Volkmer Act of of 1986 allows for interstate transport of firearms from one state to another. Conditions must be met, as to accessiblity of the items and legality of items in the states from and to.
As a Florida and Rhode Island resident I’ve been moving back and forth for 15 years. No problems. As a Florida CCW holder only New York, New Jersey and Connecticut would give me concern. I carry where legal, lock it away where not.
My buddy who still lives in ct received letter. Transaction was between he and II’m assuming you, like my self, are a Florida resident. If so how could the state demand anything if you. Do you still own property in Ct.
