I recently bought this Belgian made "British Bulldog" revolver from a member on another forum. I've always liked the Webleys that these things were copied from and now I want to get a real Webley British Bulldog. I also really like the old RIC Webleys. Here's the Belgian made British Bulldog that I just bought. Similar to the one that Charles Guiteau shot James Garfield with in 1881

This is how you eject the empties. A little rod pulls out of the middle of the cylinder base pin which is hollow:

The fit and checkering of the grips is excellent. Kind of surprised me on such a cheap gun

Note the shiny spot where the hammer hits the frame on one side. This is because that area is actually angled from the poor casting!

The frame and barrel are cast out of one piece. As you can see the bore is grossly off center

Theres a broken spring here that I have no idea what it's purpose was. The gun seems to function exactly as it should.

Unknown maker. Caliber probably (but not betting on it) .38 S&W. Marked "BRITISH BULLDOG" on top strap.
Any clues as to maker....?

I figured out what the spring does. It puts pressure on that half cock sear above it. If you push up on it the gun has a half cock position. I'm not used to a half cock like this so I didn't even think of it. Should be really easy to make a new spring.
