I have a Glock that I noticed has a problem with the safety on the trigger. It seems the return spring must be broken. If I press the safety, and then release, the safety does not return to a forward position, and I can then press the trigger on the side (without activating the lever), and the trigger will pull. Also, if I tilt the muzzle upward, the safety lever will drop back, and then I can press the trigger on the side and it will pull.

I have never heard of any problem with the safety on a Glock like this. It sounds like a return spring must be broken. Has anyone ever seen anything similar?

Never seen it before, but it should be very easy to fix. Unfortunately, the part will cost more to ship than the value of the part itself. You could try calling Glock CS to see if they will repair it... and maybe send you a shipping label. Though their CS has been a bit spotty from what I have read.

I guess I will give Glock a call and see how to proceed.

What is involved in changing out a Glock trigger, Reaper?

yea looks like i ought to be able to do that.
I will call Glock and see if they will send me the trigger.

A Glock authorized dealer will probably swap the part out for you if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.....once you get the part either from Glock or from Lonewolf, etc.

Not that they would find out but it will void your warranty if anyone other than Glock or one of their certified armorers installs it. According to the armorer's manual, and depending on your model, the trigger bar is about a $10 part. What part of the country are you in? I can see if I can get you in touch with an armorer in your area.

No. Glock is not a hardass with their warranty. If it breaks, Glock will fix it. No matter what. Forever.

:what:But guys, it can't be a Glock. He must be mistaken. Glocks are PERFECTION!!!! Perfection can't break!!! I'm shocked!!! Tears welling in my eyes, so dissapointed:(

:p

I didn't know Glock's had safety's....

Okay, okay, I know about the "safety" trigger, which in reality works about as well as my mother once telling me she had a safety on her revolver. "See, when you just pull the trigger, it takes a lot more force to fire than if you cock the hammer first.":D

Thanks for taking up bandwidth with useless comments.

I guess you guys are out of Junior High today because of the holiday?

That is the biggest bunch of bull honk I've heard in a while. I actually got a good laugh out of it.

And even when parts on Glocks "break" many times the gun will still fire.

Yes, my Glock still fires fine with the broken safety. Its not an issue of function.

Do it yourself. It's ridiculously easy and it'll be a good learning experience. If you have a target (serrated) trigger, I recommend getting a smooth trigger.

my recent encounter with glock's customer service has lead me to the conclusion that it's hit or miss, depending on who you get on the phone.

one guy sent me the wrong part, and a different rep refused to send the right part because i'm not a certified glock armorer.

after i mentioned the obvious fact that they sent me the part in the first place, this rep then said that the other rep shouldn't have done that because it's against company policy.

thumbs down on glock's cust serv.

Glock is not the only company that doesn't like to send out parts to owners. Have you ever tried to get Ruger to send a replacement part? They absolutely won't.

Update:

Called Glock Monday, and a new trigger arrived today.

Using the youtube video posted above, I took my Glock apart, and put the new trigger in.

Everything is running great now!

I am amazed that it was this easy to do!

You are right about that... I think I could replace any internal part on my Glock in about 5 to 10 minutes.

Broken glock safety......

HAHAHA!!! Glockers will always say, yeah see its broken but it still run fine. Point is it broke :neener:
