Broken XS Front Sight on Socom II?

Was out shooting a SA Socom II today and the front sight popped off. It is an XS Tritium post and ships this was from Springfield Armory. I thought that perhaps it had become unscrewed (it attaches via a screw on system kind of like a rail system), but the base of the sight actually fractured and now I've got a two-piece front sight post. Ouch.

I'll give SA a call this week and see what they say, but was curious if you guys had heard of similar issues with XS Sights? A cursory search of the net didn't turn up anything, so I guess it's just one of those things. But I thought I'd ask if you guys had heard of this before?

First I have heard of it. Maybe it was dropped or hit during shipping ect...

The sight and base do not interface well, many have cracked and fallen off.

SEI has a kit that allows you to run a comp or flash hider with a standard or NM USGI front sight.
For those of you that are so inclined... this kit also allows you to use a M14DC sound suppressor



On the other hand... SAI has a great warranty and they will send you
a replacement XS sight that will probably crack and fall off once again.
