Brought home a CZ P-01 this morning

I'd like to thank everyone that gave their opinions on the CZ P-01 in my previous post. I went back to the gun shop this morning to "just look" (yeah right lol) one more time and wound up bringing it home. I really think I'm going to love this gun ! It's seems to be just what I was looking for in a CCW and my first semi-auto. Right now I'm just enjoying the aroma of the packing grease and look forward to breaking it down tonight to give it the intial cleaning. Plus I think the packing grease will protect it until I stop drooling over it LOL . Like I said, this is my first semi-auto.....any tips on it's first cleaning ?

Well first off....Congrats. Youve done well for a 1st gun.

To clean it, get some CLP stands for Cleaner/lube/protectant....to wipe the gun out with. Its good for that, but I dont like it for slide/frame lube. Get a good lube....like Miltec 1/ FP 10 for the slide/moving parts and a good bore cleaner....I like Bore Scrubber. Strip the gun and wipe it down to get the grease off. Run a patch through the barrel just to make sure its clean and lube the slide/frame...moving parts like the hammer/sear/trigger parts.
Not too much just enough to make them move freely. Reassemble and youre good to go.....

Pics, my friend, pics! Then order a holster from PCRCCW, above, for one of the best custom rigs you can get, worth the wait. Get thee some Hakan grips, and you are set! Unless you take it to the limit, and get a JackAsh custom stainless steel guide rod, too.
Seriously, have fun - spare normal capactiy mags are at CZ for $37, or J&G for $35. Go figure.

Great choice Have fun! Check out the CZ forum from time to time for extra hi-cap mags, and other goodies. I prefer factory mags, but I replace the mag springs with Wolff +5% mag springs, just my personal choice for reliability.
