Good company ruined by stupid.
Not convinced. A large corporation such as UPS sending out an un-signed letter, no name(s) of any supervisors, managers, corporate officers, and not from its legal department?
And what does this have to do with Brownell's?
Ghost Firearms comes up on a web search as a product line of Grid Defense, but at a different address in Daytona beach.
From its website FAQs:
We begin as Ghost Firearms in 2014 and in 2018 we decided to change our name to Grid Defense to differentiate our firearms from "Ghost 80% type guns". But instead of completely change our name and cause confusion with existing Ghost customers we chose to still maintain and support the original Ghost Firearms product line. All Lower receivers and Complete Firearms will be Grid Defense as of July 2018.
- Are you Ghost Firearms or Grid Defense?
If in fact, UPS is doing this stuff and the letter is legit, it's appalling. But more info required.
Should've added that the firearms industry's business is a HUGE component of UPS's business. I just can't, from a business standpoint, see them doing this.
Well, UPS did just recently add some troubling language to their prohibited items list:If in fact, UPS is doing this stuff and the letter is legit, it's appalling. But more info required.

UPS does not accept firearms (including handguns) and firearm parts for shipment domestically unless (1) such shipments are in full compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including, without limitation, age restrictions; (2) such firearms, including any partially complete, disassembled, or nonfunctional frame or receiver (as defined by 27 CFR § 478.12) have been identified and bear a serial number in a manner that complies with federal law; and (3) such firearm parts within a package cannot be assembled to form a firearm.
Any item that meets the definition of a firearm (including firearm mufflers or silencers) or a “frame” or “receiver” under federal law (including any partially complete, disassembled, or nonfunctional frame or receiver as defined by 27 CFR § 478.12) must be identified and bear a serial number in satisfaction of the requirements for identifying such items under federal law, including 27 CFR § 478.92 and/or 27 CFR § 479.102, regardless of whether any such items are otherwise exempt from or not subject to identification requirements under applicable law. This prohibition applies even before the effective date of 27 CFR § 478.12.
You just won the internet today.A lot of content on you tube is B.S. It's getting as bad as Facebook.

Actually, I did, but couldn't listen to his blathering up to the 3:50 minute mark where he stated, with no documentation or source, that Brownell's "got the same letter." In fact, I have a UPS tracking for an order I just put it...You obviously didn't watch more than the first minute. Brownells got a letter from UPS too, terminating their account.
Yeah, why would UPS want a piece of the $70 billion or so in firearms industry business annually? https://www.nssf.org/government-relations/impact/I'm not so sure; I'd be interested in seeing some numbers to support that. It's not important enough for me to go find those numbers, but, in comparison to the totality of all the packages UPS carries every day, your claim seems dubious.
The way it was written seems to implicate stuff like uppers too, no?That being said, I dont like how that letter is written.
Not a bad idea, but I am not sure how much it will PROVE. I just tried that putting all parts minus a lower in carts, and:Maybe it would be worth going on a site like PSA or BCM and put an upper in your cart, go to check out and see what the shipping options are. Any uppers I've ever purchased were shipped UPS. If there is any validity to this UPS won't be an option at checkout. But the statement ^^^^ copied from UPS above seems pretty clear....
I'm not going to say I read all the US law chapters that UPS cited about not accepting guns or parts with no serial numbers, but guns with no serial numbers would include most .22 rifles and many inexpensive shotguns from before the law required them in 1968.Well, UPS did just recently add some troubling language to their prohibited items list:

Sure seems to fit the bill in establishing policy to reject shipment of 80% anything or any other non-serialized firearm.
Is the Second Amendment Foundation a reliable-enough source for you doubting thomases?
