Browning 1911-22

Had some spare cash and time, and since I haven't bought ammo for ahwile...

so what do I see on one of my local web groups - a NIB 1911-22. The listing was kinda old, but he was offering it NIB with an extra mag and something like 700 rounds of 22 with it for $550. I thought why not? the reviews on it sure look positive.

Took a chance on it and met up with the owner, and I have to say, what a neat little pistol. Then my wife handled it. "Oh cute, it fit's really nice" was about the gist of it.

me and my cash parted ways, and when we got home, it went right into her range bag. Oh well, at least I got to hold it once....

I have been sorely tempted to buy one. It's still on my soon to purchase list. Let us know how it shoots.

I've had two, both shot high and right, the second one better than the first. First one strung the shots vertical pretty bad, but the second one groups good enough to be a keeper even though it came to me with a huge burr in the magazine well that put a big scratch in the mag the first time i shoved it in.



The sights are terrible, so i'm going to have to do something about that, but they really do feel like a nice gun, "in your hand" and are a fun gun to plink with.

I think they are over priced for what they are, but if you wanna play you have to pay! lol

got it to the range last night. what a blast! painted the front sight with white nail polish, helped dramatically.

It fed all of the ammo I brought along without a fault. Far more accurate than I thought it would be I even have witnesses to 2 shots out of 10 hitting an 8" gong at 100 yards.

My mother got one [that I will end up with in the future] and really like it. Takes down like a basic 1911, and shots well. Sights are small, but still quite serviceable.

I have been toying with the idea of putting a larger set of sights on it. something adjustable. but haven't really looked into that yet. No one whose handled this one yet has got bit either.
