Is there anything different about the Browning A-bolt and X-bolt besides the trigger, magazine type, and appearance? Is the trigger much of an improvement? Does the box or rotary magazine allow for a longer overall cartridge length? I've been looking at the Micro Hunters for the two in .308.

It seems like a lot of rifles companies have been coming out with new versions of their traditional models that take advantage of the latest and greatest (and cheapest) manufacturing methods, just wanted to see if that X-bolt is in that same vein.

I own multiples of both. IMO the X-Bolt is an improvement over the A-Bolt. The trigger is better, it's more ergonomic, the magazine is easier to use and feeds better, safer unloading, and they shoot every bit as good. The magazine allows for long bullet seating and it's a VERY smooth feed. Silky and quiet feeding. I got rid of my Sako 85's after I spent some time with my first X-Bolt.

Miroku in Japan is known for making quality guns. A very old company too. The sell their own Miroku branded guns across Europe.
