Browning A5 Light 12 range report ...

I have a Light Twelve and a Sweet Sixteen. My hunting shotguns. If the wood breaks then I'll replace it if I have to have it made up special. I'm not a big shotgunner but these guns speak to me. Shortcomings? Everything ever designed by humans has shortcomings. Very few things designed by humans have reached the level of elegance in form and function as the Browning A-5.

Be cheerful. That just means that there's just that much less demand for your newly designed uber shotgun. Less demand means lower price. I'm doing you a favor.

Thanks...

I was talking about this situation to an old friend last night, and he put it this way. "Hey, I got a new F150 4x4 for hauling, reliability and functionality ... but I drive my 74 Firebird all the time".

I got a Benelli Nova 12 ... but I predict it is going to get dusty.

A5 goes to Ogden, Ut for a hand fitted new forearm net week.

Ed, and to anyone interested with a cracked or split forarm.

My brothers forarm had split like Ed's, four pieces, it was bad. My forarm had been split for many years so I sought out to fine some one to replace or repair my forarm as I thought my brothers was not repairable.

A local gun dealer recommended this place:
SPORTSMAN'S HAVEN, INC.
14695 East Pike Road
Cambridge, Ohio 43725 Ph-- 740-432-7243

They repaired my brothers forarm which looked as bad as ed's and also repaired my cracked forarm and rebuilt the back part that seats into the reciever. Both have held up well, and I highly recommend them for repair of any firearm.

I know they are one of the top repair shops for Remington firearms, listed in any Remington factory book. They also do custom stocks and wood working on any firearms. Even if you don't need repair right now, write this address and number down. They do excellent work.

trick to the auto-5 to keep the forearm from cracking is make dang sure you dont over tighten the magazine cap, i tighten mine till the clicks stop then back it up 2 or 3 clicks

forgot too mention i own 7 of these guns and not 1 has a split some bought new most are older
