Browning Bps not extracting shell

Hi all, I have recently installed a new barrel on my Bps,and now the extractor is not engaging the rim of the shell, but when I put the old barrel back on the problem is gone, so obviously the new barrel is the issue, my question is whether or not I can find a way to remedy the problem? Thanks for your help.

Carefully compare the breech end of both barrels. Are they both Browning barrels?

Yes they are both Browning barrels. They appear to be identical to the naked eye.
I've shot many types of shotguns, however I'm somewhat unfamiliar with how the extractor is supposed to engage the shell, does it push the shell into the breech and lock in at that time or does it need to engage once it leaves the tube and contacts the bolt?
I've pressed the shell into the extractor with a finger and it will function properly until the following shell is cycled.
