I recently decided I would find a project gun to work with. So a couple of weeks ago I picked up a BPS 12ga on gunbroker for $90 + shipping for a total of $135. The gun is beat up and has definitely seen better days. When I took it home I loaded a couple shells and found the shells weren't being released from the magazine. I took it apart and found it had bent cartridge stops. I ordered a pair from midway along with a new magazine spring as the old one seemed very worn. I installed the new parts last night and I now have a properly functioning BPS. As of now I have $175 invested in this gun and it shoots great.
Next I'll attempt to repair a crack in the buttstock and apply a new finish to it and the forearm. I'll likely fit a new recoil pad also. I'll post before and after pics in this thread.
