I recently decided I would find a project gun to work with. So a couple of weeks ago I picked up a BPS 12ga on gunbroker for $90 + shipping for a total of $135. The gun is beat up and has definitely seen better days. When I took it home I loaded a couple shells and found the shells weren't being released from the magazine. I took it apart and found it had bent cartridge stops. I ordered a pair from midway along with a new magazine spring as the old one seemed very worn. I installed the new parts last night and I now have a properly functioning BPS. As of now I have $175 invested in this gun and it shoots great.

Next I'll attempt to repair a crack in the buttstock and apply a new finish to it and the forearm. I'll likely fit a new recoil pad also. I'll post before and after pics in this thread.

Ain't nothing wrong with a BPS! Great shotgun that will give you great service and drop those empties right at your feet. I am looking forward to the pictures.

bps parts

I had a similar problem with a used BPS 10 gauge and called Browning repair services in Arnold, Mo. and was able to buy the replacement parts directly from them. Tech guy was very helpful and threw in a manual. Tom

Here's a few pics of the stock. Its scratched, chipped and cracked. The reciever has some rust.

Good morning all.

I wish I could find one like that over here in the UK.

The BPS is one of the Pumps that I would like to add to my collection. Browning UK did sell them for a while, but not for long. So, they're pretty rare.

The only US made Pump that's available in the UK is the good old Mossberg. I'm not counting the Turkish made Winchesters.

Cheers.
