I am going to buy a new magazine for my old BPS. I have already "crushed" the old one trying to unscrew. I was told that the factory uses thread adhesive and that heat and a mandral inside are needed to NOT crush. I have also been told that adhesive is NOT recommended/needed for replacment mag.

Can I get by with hand tightening the new mag?

PS - do not remove original mag unless you have to.

Try it and see! If you can't keep it tight, try some purple or blue Loctite instead of the red stuff, preferably the purple. It doesn't set up as hard as the blue or red stuff.

Yes, thanks. I did get some feed back from a gunsmith in TX and they use a special mag wrench but said a loop wrench may work.
