Have a newer Browning Buck Mark pistol, Standard URX (round barrel), it has the green fiber optic and would love to have red instead and DP sights were recommended from a friend as he feels they are best fiber optic sights out there. Anyone tried them on their BM, and if so what height and width to order?

You should be able to change out the FO rod to a different color without much problem unless it's a HiViz overmolded sight.
Pic's?

Not my gun but shows the factory hi viz sight. The kit for rods by Browning is $44-50, the DP sight is 29 and read reviews and my friend loves his DP sight as the rods they use in mount don't "halo" as he and others put it.
I am far sighted w short arms, have a rough time at times w pistol sights w eye issues. May just try model paint on it but on that rod may just chip off to easy.

Hi Viz rods are a little different from typical dawson-type that you cut/melt into place. They use proprietary, thicker rods and a little key-type tool to swap them out. You should be able to find them at a variety of retailers or call Hi Viz and ask them to send you a few. they'll be inexpensive.

Thanks guys, yeah, I called Dawson but gotta get my factory sight measured as I have lost my caliper somehow, to order correct one for my gun.
I may just get the Browning pack of interchangeable rods as found em on sale so pricing about same now to get the color I want and if went w the hi viz sight pack would have some alternative colors. IDK my friend loves his DP sights he has and he shoots comps ect.... I just shoot w friends and family for fun and bragging rights. But my eye issues are my focus to keep strain down to minimum for enjoyment and ability to shoot for hours w out getting optic headaches.

1K, not just color is issue for me. Halo effect and strain on my eyes and I get terrible ruin your day headaches. I could deal w the color if had to but end up w headaches if I don't address and fix issue if I can. But thanks for link, great alternative.

It looks similar to the Hi viz sight i had placed on my Buckmark a few yrs ago. The key is a small flat piece of metal that you slide under the fiber optic to depress a curved copper strip that is pressing against the rod to retain the rod. Once it's depressed you can pull the rod out.

You might want to try a red dot sight then. they are very cool.
