I recently acquired a Browning Buckmark Varmint - I set out to clean it, and removed the grips. Not being to good at looking at something carefully when working on it for the first time, with grips removed, I turned the gun over and parts began falling:banghead:

I cleaned it, and was able to put it back together, with all loose parts fitting the way it looks like they should...the magazine release button and corresponding piece, and the flat spring (t-shaped) on the right hand side. However, I now find that on functioning the slide the trigger will not reset. In looking at the deal, I see that the right hand side of the gun has a flat piece of metal with an "eye" in one end that clearly links to the trigger while the other end fits up into the slide. By manually pushing this up into the slide and racking it while holding pressure on this piece, the trigger will work. I see what appears to be an inlet area on the frame that might house a piece of metal that would "push" or hold this linkage up into the slide. I was thinking that this piece must have fallen somewhere on or around the workbench, but can't find anything. (this isn't to say that it didn't "fly" somewhere") I looked at Numrich's schematic, and all I see is a disconnect spring in this area, but the inlet area on the gun doesn't look like it would house what on Numrich looks like a "v" shaped spring...does anyone have a photograph of right side of this gun with the grip removed and all parts in place so I can see what I am looking for?

Or, can you tell me if it sounds like I have somehow assembled it incorrectly?

Many thanks!

Thanks, Greg! That is exactly what I needed to see; the replacement part is on order-along with a lesson on taking one's time and paying attention-
