Hey all,,

Pretty much set on the auto and wood stock, 12gauge.

TIA

I think the Silver is a relatively new model.

That said, I think it's a Gold with different styling. It does look nice.:)

Shouldered one at a gunshow last weekend. It balanced well and felt felt lighter than than it's 7lb 5oz listed weight, I liked it. Several are listed on Gunbroker for around $800 give or take. Browning's not famous for building junk.

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure that it is the same as the Browning Gold with the receiver a different color. The Browning Gold is an EXCELLENT shotgun.

The older Browning Gold shotguns had the semi-humpback design too. That's the kind that I have. It handles beautifully and the recoil is much less than the older A-5, and the weight is a little less too.

Just bringing back an old thread too see if there has been anymore news on this shotgun. I was looking at one the other day going for $800. I really like the semi-humpback design, and the silver and wood is nice too.:D

Are Browning's worth the money?

I too have been looking at these and the Winchester SX3. They are essentially the same gun. Browning and Winchester are both owned by Fabrique National in Belgium. The Browning Gold has the speed load feature, and the magazine cut off. The Silver and the SX3 do not have these features. The Silver and the SX3 also have the aluminum magazine which is what makes them almost 8 oz. lighter than the Browning Gold. The Browning Gold Superlite Hunter also has the aluminum magazine system.

I have been unable to find any negative comments about either the Browning Gold or the Winchester SX3. I would be surprised if the Silver is any different. One thing to note, if you visit the Browning website, the Gold has a $100.00 factory rebate until November. My guess is that they are either going to discontinue the Gold line, or revise it.
