Cutting a field is like ringing a dinner bell.

Even here at home the chickens are out eating the now easy prey.

I’ve considered that, I actually have more than one 410, matter of fact I have a H&R single shot. The problem is my tractor is a older Ford 4100, so no cab so storage is an issue. The other problem is a long gun would require 2 handed operation, which means I’d either have to stop the tractor or take both hands off the wheel, which isn’t ideal.

I keep a suppressed 22 with me at home, mowing.

At the farm it’s generally a regular carry pistol, 380 or 45 ACP most often because that’s the rounds I load with #12 shot.

When the pasture is burned lots of hawks show up for the feast. I also have hawks show up when I shoot prairie dogs.

I've seen a couple of rabbits snatched by Red Tailed Hawks (Chicken Hawks we call them) while bush hogging and seen a couple of rabbits see the hawks shadow and dodge them. I saw one hawk launch out of a tree about 300 yard away to snatch a rabbit and agree their eyesight truly amazing. I am going to start bush hogging my pastures tomorrow which usually takes three days to finish.
