a friend just bought a BT 99 plus. Really nice gun in what I consider good condition. Has a 32" barrel with an invector choke. I gave an invector + that seems like it fit perfectly. My main question is are the + chokes ok in this gun? I take it that the + means that the choke is extended otherwise they appear to be interchangeable.
Any other information on the 99 plus would be helpful. This one has a high adjustable rib, Adjustable comb that looks factory and an adjustable recoil reducer that may not be factory origional. It's not a graycoil. I should have taken pics when he was here but I will get a few as soon as we try this thing out. Also, I was thinking that the plus models were only made for a few years. True? If so that's a real shame.

Browning has produced three different basic choke tube designs since the end of the fixed choke era:

  • Invector
    • (A very early introduction in the marketplace, featuring a flush fit in the original configuration.)
  • Invector Plus (Invector+)
    • (A longer tube with improved pattern performance.)
  • Invector-DS
    • (A totally new concept in pattern performance and a breakthrough in creating a better tube to barrel seal.)
12 gauge barrels can be fitted for three different chokes. They are NOT interchangeable.

My old Browing Citori invectors, fit my old Mossberg 500 pump.

the BT-99 and BT-100 are super well made shotguns and you will see them being used on single trap fields just about every where trap is shot. i have been useing a BT 100 for some time now and have over 35,000 rounds down the tube with out any thing needing adjusted or being replaced. the invecta chokes are shorter with the threads being closer to the muzzel, while the invecta pluse being longer and the threads are deeper in the barrel. both of these chokes are flush with the muzzel when installed. eastbank.

Browning says the Invector Plus chokes are for Invector Plus back bored guns only. There are flush and extended versions.
