Well I've been wanting to get a nice semi auto 22lr pistol for a very long time, but I was always stuck with what one. I had narrowed it down to a ruger or browning, well saturday night my choice was made for me. For the first time in 12+ years of going to the local Rocky Mountain Elk foundation banquet I won a raffle, and just picked up a buck mark. I'll post some pic when I get a chance, neat little pistol, it has what looks like a duracoat carbon fiber paint job and RMEF wood grips. What is your thoughts on the browning buck mark? Good shooters? On par with the Ruger MKIII? I don't have anything to compare it too, I have shot a friends MKIII, and a very old high standard before, but other than that all of my 22lr handgun shooting has been with wheel guns. Thank for any insight.

I regularly recommend both Ruger Mark II/III, Browning Buckmarks, Ruger 45/22's for a good 22 semi-auto that is generally very reliable, accurate, well made, and a pleasure to shoot. You have a good one. Shoot it and enjoy it!

I actually prefer 22 revolvers overall by the way. But have semi-auto's too. Mine are a Ruger Mark II, Colt Service Model Ace, and HS Victor. I want to get a Ruger 45/22 because they feel real good in the hand. The Ruger SR22 is also on my list. Other purchases get in the way... like the Ruger LCR-22. :)

Love mine! Crazy accurate. You may have the occasional jam but nothing out of the ordinary for a .22 autoloader. More often than not on mine it seems the round jumps over the feed ramp and gets wedged along the top of the chamber. But it has never happened with quality ammo like CCI mini mags, mostly just federal bulk pack. Even with the bulk stuff it is about 99.5% reliable. It also could be I run mine pretty filthy, but that's just because it is so fun (and cheap) to run hundreds and hundreds of rounds through it.

Well first hundred rounds with federal bulk pack, and it ran flawlessly. hopefully going to take it out this weekend and get it really dirty. 2o rounds at 15 yards.

Great shooter. Feels great in hand. Handles bulk pack ammo no problem. However, not my favorite to clean. I prefer KISS (keep it simple stupid) I always clean after shooting.

Congrats on the new toy! ! !

I've shot Brownings and like them a lot. I went with older S&W's for my own .22's but Buckmark was my choice before I discovered my beloved S&W 422 and later 2206.

When you said it had a carbon finish I was a bit puzzled. Then I saw your picture. That's just downright FUNKY! ! ! !

Very nice! One of the few 'out of the oridinary' finishes I like. You did good. Buckmarks and Rugers are the best .22 semi autos made.
