Took out my new Buck Mark today. Loved those Rosewood grips at the store. I liked the stainless model too but this one was my favorite. Really fun gun to shoot. More accurate then me with any of the 5 different types of ammo I put through it.

I set up some pieces of recycling to shoot in addition to the shoot-and-see targets. When I was down at that end, looking at how I'd shot, I noticed a big fly that was crawling on the orange juice container. I walked back the 15 or so yards to where I was shooting from and I saw that the fly was still crawling on the container. So I took aim, fired, and BAM! I got it! :what: I was pretty excited and had to take a couple pics with my phone real quick. It's the top hole. The one with the yellow guts sprayed out. :D

Not the kinda shot I could duplicate very often.

So obviously, in light of all this, my new gun needs to be named. I'm thinking "Fly Swatter" or "Bug Zapper" or something like that. I'm open to ideas if you guys have any?

It should also be noted that 22LR is an overpowered round for fly hunting. :D

That reminds me of the time as a kid when I shot a Bumble Bee with my Crossman 760 BB gun. I put a BB size hole straight through the center of that thing from about 15 feet.

Your targe was certainly smaller. Nice shooting! They are GREAT guns.

Dead is dead. If it will do the job, I won't begrudge its use. At least someone has meat in the freezer this winter, I didn't fill any of my tags this year.:(

I'm going to replace all my flyswatters with Brownings.

Maybe Hi-Powers instead of Buck Marks, though. Flies in SC can get pretty big.

My brother and I were shooting prairie dogs and having a lull in the shooting noticed lots of flies on piles of fresh cow dung. So, we got out our .22s and practiced shooting at flies with open sites. Don't know how many we hit, but it does give you plenty of focused practice. Didn't try to shoot them with pistols, which maybe I should have done since I have the very same pistol...and I love mine

reminds me of the day as a kid when I was shooting with my dad and uncle. As we were getting back in the car afterwards to go home, uncle found a full beer can. He threw it up in the air 30 ft and shot it with a 38 snub revolver.

My jaw hit the ground.
