Who makes the better budget 1911 in 10mm, rock island armory or eaa Girsan?
Given the two choices I would have to go with the RIA. However if you added a 3rd one in there, the Tisas, I would choose it over the other two.Who makes the better budget 1911 in 10mm, rock island armory or eaa Girsan?
I want a handgun to deer hunt occasionally just for fun and to carry hiking and for backup hunting black bear. I was looking at a Taurus tracker 44 at first but I love the 1911 and it looks like the 10mm is up to the task.Any particular reason you’re looking at a 1911 series 10MM?
For a strictly hunting handgun I would go with a longer barrel 44mag. Black Bear hunting Backup a 4" 44mag. Hiking carry the 10mm would be great choice.I want a handgun to deer hunt occasionally just for fun and to carry hiking and for backup hunting black bear. How much use has it had?Not familiar with the eaa Girsan but my RIA GI in 10mm is a fine gun. Fit and finish as well as function so far has been perfect. View attachment 1133708
Not much. I shot a couple of magazines through it. It consistently hit 1/2 gallon milk jugs at 25 yards. It’s not my porch nor bedside nor hunting gun. It will see little useHow much use has it had?
No, get a .45 Colt. It can be loaded to .44 Magnum levels and doesn't spit your brass all over Hell's Half Acre.I knew someone would chime it with "get a 44 magnum."

I have a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt, but I really love my Colt New Service loaded to 23K PSI.I love a properly loaded 45 Colt. Pigs hate them so that's a win-win.
