Budget AR for 3 gun project

Man, the Del-Ton that I've got has not failed me yet, but I haven't put a ton of rounds through it. Just a few hundred. It also has a decent trigger, a bit better than my Windham trigger.

What does this have to do with the thread? I ask not to be rude but to see if I missed something as the lower is already built with an ALG. I. May upgrade it in the future. But for now the plan is to make a light weight rifle for 3 gun that is made out of decent parts but on a tight budget.

Completely understand the budget. New little guy in the house a year ago means dad's fun budget too a big hit lol. I think prices will hold. I haven't seen anything to crazy the last couple days

Looking forward to the final build write up and some shooting reports!

Thanks. I am too. I’m also looking to add some pics.

Delton is nothing special. You put a nice parts list together and stayed in your budget. Your build. Your rules

I just reread what you posted. Again I wasn’t trying to be snarky.
Upon rereading it I see it just looks like a comment.

I don’t have anything biased about any brands. I’m glad the Deton has been good to you. It’s good to know.

The parts I’ve picked have been what I hope are the best value for what I’m building. Well they were at least when I bought them. Prices on some have chamged. For instance the Anderson stripped lowers have been on sale twice for $30.

I’m planning on posting how things go. And if course any changes as I use it.

It was KB308 post not mine. I was agreeing with you

Sorry man, I think I misunderstood the intent of the thread. My fault, just trying to help.

Have to agree with you that Del-Ton is nothing special. I just have had good luck with mine... So far! LOL. I hope it stays that way! :)

And I was thinking that you could get a decent Del-Ton complete or in-complete upper for a good price. Again, I may have misunderstood the intent of the thread. My apologies guys.

Check out the Vortex PSTII 1-6 and the Burris RT6 for a solid 3-gun optic. The older Burris MTAC 1-4x that is available used in quite a few places is very serviceable too.

You could go with a red dot and shoot limited division, but I would wager you will eventually move to a magnified optic.

I didn't see, what barrel did you wind up choosing?
I haven’t said yet.
I may cancel the order and go with a different one.
I ordered it from a different vendor when I ordered the handguard from JoeBobs. As always JoeBobs was great and fast. The other vendor I called and they haven’t even pulled it yet. I’m giving them until Friday. If it’s not shipped by then I’m ccanceling the order.

The “best value” I can find for a 1-6x
Ideally with a lifetime or 5 year warrenty

Burris RT6 or Vortex Viper PST Gen2 1-6x.

I didn't like to spend the money but I bought a Razor 1-6 back before all these other decent 1-6x were available on the market. It is superb and bomb proof.

I believe that is a bear Creek barrel and from what I have read on TOS they shoot well for the cost. Looking forward to a range report

But I got it

It seems like this is going to be the opposite of the lower

I can’t seem to find my hex wrenches. (I thought I unpacked them and put them in the tool chest)

Your barrel is a little heavier then I like, but it should help with recoil and follow up shots.
It’s nice to see it all come together.
I have something for your bench once you get it built.
