Bud's Gun Shop "Stage 1" order status?

I ordered a pistol from Bud's 4 days ago. I have an order status of "Stage 1" when I check on the order on their website. They say to allow up to 7 days for them to ship a gun. So, they aren't late or anything yet. I just want to know what "Stage 1" means. Do any of you know?

The were closed by the time I went to their website. I can call them tomorrow.

Bud's can be a bit slow with shipping. But I've bought guns from them before with no problem.

If you placed a Internet order they may not take it as a serious purchase. Maybe this is a level one order to them. I have this happen all the time. People will order guns from me. Do the checkout including credit card info if that is how they pay.

I do not run credit cards until the item ships because it is way to expensive to charge a card and then pay the fees again on credit if the deal does not materialize.

If the gun is not in stock I do not even order it until the buyers FFL arrives or I talk to the receiving FFL. I learned years ago the special order stuff is what I get screwed on the most.

Buds has slow shipping usually, wait the 7 days before you get concerned. I also wouldn't bother trying to call, the line is usually busy.

Are you sure both your money AND FFL are in their hands? That probably the first stage, is waiting for those to arrive.

Otherwise, be patient. Don't bug 'em until there is a real problem.

My local dealer's FFL was listed in a drop-down menu on their site, and it doesn't expire until 2/1/2007. So, that shouldn't be a problem.

Bud's won't be late on shipping it until the 1/15/2007. So, I'm not going to bug them yet. Their site says to allow 7 days for shipping, and that most likely means 7 business days.

For being a high volume online dealer, I don't think they took very long to ship. I ordered on 12/14 and had to have my FFL send info so it went into "Stage1" on 12/16 when they got the fax. I saved by paying with cashier's check since I wasn't in a hurry and they received that on 12/21. Even over Christmas weekend it only took 5 days to ship and I got confirmation on 12/26. They certainly keep you well informed which is something I've come to appreciate immensely - don't ever order from botach tactical, I'm still waiting for them to resolve issues from an October order that arrived in late November!
