You guys forgot condoms ........................can't ever have too many also Hershey bars with almonds. Perfect:neener:

seems like you'll need a truck to haul it all.....:eek:
When I built my BOB I started with a truck. . . 96 hour kit, tent, sleeping bag, blankets, lots of camping gear (need to store it someplace). No matter where I am, it's always nearby..

Don't forget the silver or gold bullion, or diamonds to bribe the border guards with.

Euros too, to bribe the UN Blue Helmets. Dollars will be worthelss.

But in all seriousness, cash is a very good idea.

After the 9/11 attacks I was stuck in Connecticut and had to drive back to Texas. My credit cards were refused regularly during my trip. I had just enough cash to get by.

mines a bit mroe practical than some:

* spare shirt
* change of socks
* change of undies
* two instant noodle lunches
* few packets of hot chocolate
* Stainless steel KleenKanteen (for boiling water
* two bic lighters
* waterproof matches
* Multi-tool
* notebook with map of town
* 100 rounds fo .22lr
* personal medical kit with painkillers and bandages or various types

My bag is focused on staying dry and fed for a few days, not on trying to be Mad Max.

godsdog

I'd have bourbon, probably Wild Turkey at least 144oz. that's a rationed amount ofcourse (two onces an hour). Mini 30 for a "chaser" during the first 12 hours then I'd probably have to go to my Mossberg and buckshot!!!

I developed mine from years of deploying to disaster areas. Everything from week long brush fire deployments to 8 different hurricane deployments (including 2 weeks in the Katrina zone). Here you go:

USB flash drive with an encrypted copy of all vital records, credit cards, and licenses
Kimber Ultra Carry, 3 spare mags

$150 cash in 1's, 5's, 10's and a 20.
Credit Card with $0 balance and a $5,000 limit
Emergency charger for phone
GPS
Compass
Map of my local area
Space blanket
6 750 ml bottles of water

deck of playing cards (that way when I get lost, I can play solitaire. Within 20 minutes someone will come along and tell me to play the red jack on the black queen)

First aid kit in a small bag, containing:
Sudafed
Aspirin
Ibuprofen
Topical Lidocaine/disinfectant swabs
Immodium AD
PeptoBismol tablets

Socks, underwear, water... How dull.

Where's your AK-47 with 30 spare magazines? Amateur. :p

pocket knife (spyderco military), small field knife(SOG), surefire G2 w/spare batteries, light sticks, compression bag, waterproof bag, 3x black garbage bags, hygeine kit, 2x socks, beanie or watch cap, balaclava, gloves, 2x MRE's, cash, 2x t-shirts, goretex jacket, thermal jacket(aka compression jacket), 2x thermal blankets, 2x $0.99 ponchos, 2x bic lighters, waterproof matches, 50-100 rounds of ammo for PD weapon, small first aid kit, one bag of saline and IV kit, and a gerber multi-tool.

I have all of this in a camelbak talon back pack. The bag is heavy, but if you are part of a team, you can always use the compression bag as another back pack and let someone else carry some of it too. Several of my military friends and I got together and came up with the above list. So far, the setup has worked well, especially if you are out somewhere and the weather takes a turn south, you can always dig something out of the bag.

Fixed blade, sak,
1911, 3mags,
1 gal water in 3 canteens, water purification tabs,
matches, bic lighter(2)
my perscription meds, some otc stuff and some bandages, some suture and suturing tools,
25' rope
poncho, vest, jacket 3pr socks/underwear, ski hat extra shirt and pants, hankercheif(2)
granola bars, a couple of cans of peaches and some jerky
maps, compass, binoculars
extra cellphone charger extra pair of glasses some paper and pens
2 space blankets, and a regular blanket

add to that I usually carry a small folder on me, my cellphone(has gps internet on it) my wallet w/ extra cash and I keep my boots next to the bag if not wearing them
If I though it was really hairy I might take my 3030 and a box of ammo but prob not

http://www.codeready.org/ It really depends if it IS a BOB or not. If you put it in a couple large plastic containers "Rubbermaid, Steiral, etc" that you can toss in back of car and go.
Also depends on location/time of yr. My wife and I could have LIVED out of our car on drive for 3 days on cross country trip. Candles/matches, multiple snow suits/jackets/gloves/ wool blankets/ garbage bags/(cell phones/ chargers) GPS, Glock/HS2000 3 lbs summer sausage, spuds, onions, frozen meat (venison/elk) (but to be honest no frying pan) :( 4 24oz bottles of Mt Dew, 3 25 oz of coke, 5 24 oz of water, half a dozen towels, MRE, and even a couple magizines to read. :) Crackers, chips, hard candy, shovel, as well as normal suitcase with clothing for trip.

Funny you mention this. I was sitting in my livingroom with a couple buddies last night at about 10pm and we were watching tv. Man vs. Wild comes on and we suddenly get the urge to go camping.
This is what I brought:
1 MRE, 1911 (with one loaded magazine), thermals, canteen, flashlight, magnesium block/striker, sleeping bag. Walked a ways into the woods and had a fire going with the magnesium block raging in about 10 minutes. Spontaneity to the extreme.

if its 72 hrs im going to want:
3 cases of bush light
2 attractive women who are cursed with a lack of morals (no point in being greedy)
1 case of trojans (i can use the extras to make balloon animals)
1 bottle of advil im sure ill have a need of it before the 3 days are up

Remember in "Dr. Strangelove" The emergency survival kit?
$20 in gold, 2 pairs of women's panty hose, 5 chocolate bars,
2 packs of condoms.
To which Slim Pickins says, "A fella could have a pretty good time in Moscow with that!"
