Okay, I'm lazy, and I'm not planning on putting together a kit. However, I'm putting together a list of items and thier locations. I'm going to put it in an envelope and place it in my gunsafe, labeled 72 Hr BOB
Its mostly things I have on hand, around the house. However, in a pinch, I think I could probably pack it in under 10 minutes.
I've broken the list down by first what can be carried on my and my wife's backs, and secondly what can be thrown into the back of her SUV.
Please, feel free to poke holes in it or flame away :fire:
My primary concern is having to evacuate for natural disaster. Otherwise, my plan A is to hunker down.

Yep...workin for the Gub'mnt....its got good upsides, but the downsides are big too.
I'm gettin out of Utah as soon as I can....needless to say, I'm not 'native'
There are a few other Utahns around here, hiding in the shadows....

Cool ...

First of all, please realize that I'm NOT criticizing you for not preparing a "bag" ... But ...

Think about how quickly you were able to pack for a trip the last time you left for a week or so, which involved only "normal", easily-at-hand personal articles packed without any undue stress ... and then compare THAT time to your 10 minute estimate of preparing a properly equipped bag of necessities that might be needed for a "natural" disaster, and which you wouldn't ordinarily be "packing" for a normal trip.

Referring to a "list" to help you pack emergency supplies DURING an emergency ... without having either prepared such a bag previously, or having at least "practiced" locating and packing these different supplies ... may be a bit more difficult and time-consuming than you might think ... especially if there's a loved one or two "experiencing distress", and getting under foot, during the process.

You know ... "natural" disasters are still probably going to involve the survival of "other" people, and while some folks "rise to the occasion" during emergencies, "other" folks revert to their "less social, natural" tendencies ... and you still might want to at least consider their potential presence in the event of a "natural emergency".

These are all personal risk assessment issues ...
