Been looking at a Kimber Pro Carry II for a while now and have been reading up on the BUL line as well.

Looks like the BUL M5 Commander is the same handgun at about $250 less. Just doesnt carry the Kimber name.

I have heard that Charles Daly was gonna be making these available in the summer on thier website.

Anyone else know who has them other than Long Island Shooting Center?

Any intel on the BUL line would be helpful too. Thanks

LennyJoe,
Kimber Polymer frames used to be made by Bul. Not sure who makes them now.

EAA is the new US importer of Bul. The guns are on their website and in their catalog.

I could not find my EAA literature.

However Bul framed autoloaders are in the current Charled Daly catalog.

I also found the current Bul catalog and they show the importer as KBI in Harrisburg, PA.
Bul's website in Israel

I know that I handled Bul pistols in the EAA booth back in February. I will be seeing them on Friday at the NRA Annual Meeting and I will see what I can find out.

Gents,

I can clear this up. The EAA deal fell through--got that straight from them months ago. Charles Daly says the Bul should be available from them in June (as of an email last week). They claim to be importing them in 45, 40, and 9. I have a 45 and love it. I hope that the CD imports are just as good. If so I am definately getting a 9mm. I am still curious as to what mags they will use. Mine takes Kimber mags, but I heard a rumor the new ones will take STI mags. That would be preferable.

Grayrider, what series do you have?

Have read where you can get a mag release here so you can use Para 14 round mags.

I am interested in the Commander line from BUL or the Pro Carry II from Kimber.

Like the price better of course on the BUL opossed to the Kimber.

Have you matched the two up to see the difference?

So will they still be branded 'BUL', or 'Charles daly'? Just curious thanks.

LennyJoe,

I have the full sized M-5. I have seen that mag catch, but got a deal on some Kimber mags for $52 each and took it. I hear the catch works fine, though. One of my 10 rounders that came with the gun is actually a recut mec-gar para mag, and it has been flawless. It is my opinion and that of my gunsmith that the parts in the Bul not frame specific are the same as those offered by Kimber. I would be hard pressed to tell the difference between them and those in my Kimber Classic. I have heard that Bul did the frame and frame specific parts for Kimber, and Kimber did the rest for Bul. Thus they are the same gun, and cost a lot less. If CD offers them and does not change anything, they will be the deal of the year. I may buy both 40 and 9mm. Unfortunately I bet they stamp Charles Daly on the side.

I would be interested in these. I have a Bul framed Kimber and it is an excellent gun. I would love to have a spare.

I also have the Kimber Polymer Stainless with the BUL marked frame. I would love to have a BUL in 9mm.

I also have a Bul M5 full size with factory hard chrome slide , very sharp looking gun and very accurate . I tried to get the Rescomp mag release ( to use Para mags ) but gave up after a few months of trying , I just ended up getting some extra 10 rounders . It's an awesome gun very accurate , reliable and fun to shoot .
