There are gun or ammo dealers who err on the side of caution when following the hundreds of rules and laws from both State and Federal governments. The laws can be pretty confusing and they can get conflicting advice even from two different BATFE inspectors. If they screw up even once it's possible for them to loose their license, their business and their freedom.Ok, I know where to buy it BUT why do I have to be 21 to buy bulk rifle ammo when I can buy rifle ammo in regular quanities at 18????

That's EVERY CARTRIDGE EVER MADE ... the law is stupid and the seller is being overcautious while dealing with a stupid and unconstitutional law. What cartridge are you talking about? IF it is one that can be used in both rifles and handguns, the seller will go with the older age requirements

You're telling me that there cannot be a rifle built to fire every "handgun cartridge" or a handgun to fire any "rifle cartridge"?Well, not quite true
Cannot be built? Sure anything CAN be built, but right now, that is not the case....haven't seen too many 577 NE handguns.............You're telling me that there cannot be a rifle built to fire every "handgun cartridge" or a handgun to fire any "rifle cartridge"?
Build a 7.62x54R revolver and I'll buy it from you, and then say you're right. You're telling me that there cannot be a rifle built to fire every "handgun cartridge" or a handgun to fire any "rifle cartridge"?
He's probably buying .22LR from Walmart and they always ask if it's for a pistol or rifle.
