Hope this is the right place to put this . Just wondering if anyone knows what this type bullet is called it is a 38 SPL +P but I don't know what the bullet type is .

It is a jacketed hollow point. If it is factory loaded +P it will say so on the headstamp. It will be stamped +P, along with the maker.

If it is handloaded, there is no way to tell what bullet and what velocities it was designed for.
 
I knew it was a JHP but being flat nosed is what I was curious about. Jusr wondered if it had a special name like maybe JHP DUMDUM.Thanks guys and WALKAALONG it is stamped on the head Federal 38SPL +P.

Aghh...I misread the huge type. ;)

Yep, looks like a typical old JHP in .38 Spl. Nope, not a "dum dum" or anything special.
 
I vote for a JHP factory load probably a 110 or 125 gr. I don't remember if Federal has a bullet supplier or they roll there own.
