.223 reloaders have you used either of these 2 vendors for your .223 bullets?
http://www.xtremebullets.com/default.asp
http://bulletheads.com/

Both have 1000 223 55 grain FMJ boat tail with cannelure. Diameter .224 for about the same price of $93.
Note sure if one is better than the other or if anyone have had any issues with either vendor.
Just plan on plinking and shooting Project Appleseed targets with these bullets.

Thanks!

Either will work fine as plinking bullets.

Xtreme bullet on the left, Bullethead bullet on the right. Both 55gr. fmj plinkers.

The bases look pretty different as well,
the lead core in the bullethead bullets is flush with the base, and the core in the xtreme bullets is more recessed.
Xtreme on the left, bullethead on the right.

Everything being equal, I'd go for the xtreme, I think they have a better quality jacket and are more uniform, but since I haven't shot either extensively yet, thats just my observation from looking at them.

I have 500of the X-Treme, but have not shot any yet. I do not have any of the Bullethead projectiles. The X-Treme bullets look pretty good. I'll find out how theu shoot one of these days, but I never buy 55 Gr FMJ for accuracy, just cheap plinking. If I catch a better bullet (HP or SP) at a price near FMJ, I buy some. Not happening lately of course, but everything turns around eventually.

In a few months when things are not selling because everyone is seriously stocked up, sales will begin. Then will be the time to stock up. Wait till a great deal comes along and pounce.

I have loaded the Bullet Heads. They are plinking bullets, nothing more.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, just don't shoot them for accuracy.

I have loaded the Extreme bullets and they work just fine but the "cannelure" around the bullet isn't really adequate and it's not in the same spot as a standard 55 gr. FMJBT. I load these and don't change my settings from Hornady 55 gr. FMJBT and they are reasonably accurate ( 2-3 inches at 100 yards) so I am happy. I use H335 and a load that provides ~2900 ft/sec. out of my RRA AR. I would use them again but usually just buy the Hornady 55 gr FMJBT for about the same price. Xtreme runs some sales periodically and it gets hard not to buy them for plinking ammo which is why I have used them from time to time.

When comparing X-Tream and Bulletheads to Natchez do realize that Natchez charges for shipping. The other two, shipping is included in the price.

I use X-Treme 55grain bullets with 25ish grains of H335. They'll occasionally have discounts. For what it's worth, ~2000 of them fit comfortably in a Rubbermaid 5-cup Dry Food container.
