I won't even go into the Burris horror stories we have exprianced here at the shop....I will tell you a short story of my own...
Burris Black Diamond scope, deer hunting 35F, 1000 ft MSL, moderate to light rain...scope fills with water, my daughter....daddy, I can't see through the scope... dad, well get behind it like I showed you... daddy, it's full of water...WHAT!!! let me see...DAMN!!!!!
Sent it back to Burris through the company.... they lost it, 4 weeks later they find it, send it back...not repaired and with a different reticle in it....return...many phone conversations...3 more weeks, it arrives...
Parallax adjustment so tight you aint turning it! Call...advised to send back....send back, now I have enough in shipping to damn near buy a new one...no, they did not want to reimburse the shipping, but in all fairness did reimburse one, just one of the shipping charges!
3 more weeks, it comes back.....all fixed, nice and shiny.....has no reticle in it.....
More calls, send back, this time they sent a pre-paid lable for me...5 days latter it is here....are you ready for this......
They had put a totally different reticle in it, than it had originally!......
I didn't even call em' back, I can use it like it is......
And this is just one scope.... this has happened with numorus units at the shop...talk about a pain!
The Customer Service people are nice, polite and try to help, but the repair folks...well!
The last batch the shop sent back for repair...3 units, were repaired correctly and returned pronto, pleased customers...but the scopes should not have failed at all...things like flakes of (?) stuck on the reticles to loose lenses that rattled to eye pieces that were installed crooked.
BTW...you do not need the original, or any receipt for repairs.
