Burriss PEPR mounts and Picatinny rails

I recently bought a DPMS Sweet 16 that had been tricked out already, the previous owner had UTG fold up iron sights on it and a UTG hand guard with more rails on all sides. I took the iron sights off and got me a Burriss PEPR mount and a Vortex scope. The mount will not fit on the rail permanently atop the upper, but fits right in the new attached UTG rails....are Picatinny rails made in different sizes as far as the width of the gaps? I am lucky I got good eye relief with the PEPR mount on the added rails.

Something is off. I've mounted numerous PEPR's on different DPMS's at work without an issue and have one on my own DPMS.

Are you aware of the adjustment on the PEPR mount?
