Well it's a great gun and it's a feather-weight gun compared to other rifles..

It's only 4.3 pounds and comes with a rail mount that covers most of the upper receiver

It's made by carbon fiber and composite materials

I was wondering why it doesn't have an ejection port cover and a forward assist with it?

I think the answer is they just didn't see the need for those items on a civilian weapon, so they didn't build them into the mold. But I'm just guessing.

Forward assist is an easy one. This came about from Vietnam when the army didn't use proper cleaning techniques nor chrome chambers. Things would rust and the bolt wouldn't close completely. The problem is you DON'T want to do this!! It very frequently competely jammed the rifle for good and turned it into an expensive paperweight after you fired the round.

Forward assists are generally recognized as not only irrelevant, but bad if actually used.

The dust cover I'm not sure about. But given the nature of the carbon fiber, stainless barrel, and a chromed bolt and carrier, they may just feel that its a civilian rifle with improved inherent lubrication and anti-corrosion properties so why bother?

Plus I know a dust cover like there is on the Mil-Spec rifle would actually scrape up the carbon-fiber pretty good. I see what it does to the anodized aluminum, so for sure it would be worse on the carbon.

Carbon fiber is strong, but it gets scraped up good over the long-term, and you can't refinish it.

I agree for all the reasons given. Still, scrapes or no, I think I'd personally prefer the dust cover - maybe they just decided it doesn't "look good" on the rifle, and for a consumer market it could be removed?

22/22mag - why is the selector on the picture of your rifle half between "fire" and "safe"? :)

Caimlas ..it may have been when I cleaned and put the rifle up for a picture. That was some time ago and I have had no problems with it in full fire or full safety.

Well do you think it will be reliable and durable like a regular ar15?

The Carbon-15 provides a 40% increase in strength over the aluminum.

I see no reason why it wouldn't be as reliable as a regular AR-15.

What do you mean?

I've heard the finish wears off but it's stronger than the chasis of an AR-15. As far as breaking or anything, unless you run over it with a car, probably not. I've heard nothing but good things about this carbon stuff.

Zundfolge I held one at the gunshow and found that the pistol could be used as a short rifle when held to my shoulder without any stock.Of course it helps to have short arms like I have.
