Does anyone have any experience with the Bushmaster XM15 E2S M-4? I'm considering buying one from Atlantic Firearms for $820 which is the best price I have found so far.

Thanks

Jeff

All current Bushy lowers are marked "XM-15 E2S" as far as I know.

Bushy makes an excellent product.... the best out of the box line on the market right now, IMO. Have at it.

It's a very nice rifle, a lot of fun with standard cap (30rds) mags. The mini-y comp makes them pretty loud, but there are times when you just want to make noise :D

I've found it to be pretty accurate, and it's so lightweight that you just want to take it everywhere.

Is that 820 for the A3 or the A2 upper? I've seen both, but I prefer the A3 (a little more weight, but more options).

I will comment a little further.

The mini-Y comp is LOUD.. VERY LOUD.

I've fired a couple of them, and even with good muffs on, (I'm left handed) I can't hear much out of my left ear after only ~15 rounds.

I have a bare muzzle 16" superlight, which has a couple advantages: it has a full 16" of barrel for more velocity out of the same OAL, and it is lighter than M4 profile also. Downside is that it has more felt recoil than a comped model.

Arcli9ht it was the A3 which grabbed my attention also. Now the thing is who to order it from. I have heard nothing but good from both dealers, AIM seems to be the most recommended here. As far as it being loud cant be any worse than my AR-10.

Thanks for all the info everyone,
Jeff

Bushamster has a new brake out - their "izzy" brake, which looks an awful lot like a FS. If I were to get a post-ban bussy today with a brake, that would be the one to get.

I don't think any of their regular AR offerings include this brake yet, however, if you can buy a complete bushy lower from a local dealer, you can order an upper from bushy with the izzy brake.

Does the Bushy M4 model have the Mini Y or Ak Brake?

Either one is very loud, and you would do well to get a 16" bare barrel and have it threaded after the ban expires. Otherwise it is a bit of work and money to have it sent off and a new muzzle brake or flash supressor rewelded to your 14.5" barrel.

As for Atlantic Firearms, I've purchased two weapons from them, a DSA Fal and a SAR1. If he has the item in stock you can expect about a week delay before he can get it shipped to you. It all depends on when he recieves the order and what his current shipping days are. If he doesn't have it in stock and is awaiting one from the manufacturer, you might as well sit back and wait, because it's not going to be quick.

If he doesn't have one in stock, then that might mean that he has one tied up in an auction such as Gunbroker or Gunsamerica. He usually won't tell you that because he of course makes more money selling it to you directly since he can bypass the auction folks. So, if he says he's out of stock, then you might want to check the auction sites to see if he has one currently up for sale. That happened with me and my STG58A Carbine. I waited 3 weeks for one, when I could have just bid on the one online and got it for the same price. I found out after I had paid and ordered that he had ones dedicated to auction sales.

You could find better prices for your Bushy if you look around. Try checking over at AR15.com in the EE and Industry section. I'm betting you can find a better deal.

They do. I just bought one yesterday and am picking it up on tuesday. Traded in my 16 inch crowned barrel for one. I saw it when I was buying my Storm and instantly fell in love with it. Looks exactly like a FS but is NJ legal.

DbloKevin, Give us a range report on how the Izzy compares to the bare muzzle when you can. I would sure like to know. I just had the mini-y on my Bushy M4gery removed and a KKF Tacbrak installed, a lot more ear friendly.

Thats exactly what I did.

The felt recoil with a bare muzzle certainly isn't "a lot", but the difference between bare muzzle and comped is quite noticable and makes a very real difference in quickness for putting multiple rounds on target quickly, downrange. For me, at least.

My post sunset carbine will have a muzzle device of some kind, without a doubt. It just won't be a mini-Y, as I'd certainly be deaf in 5 min from one of those. A bare muzzle AR-10 has nothing on a mini-Y M4gery as far as blast felt by the shooter.

Ditto on those last two replies. I bought my Bushmaster M4gery because I liked the looks and hadn't really done much research. I have no complaints about the rifle as is (weighs nothing, very accurate, never a single malfunction), but if I were to do it again I'd take a straight 16" barrel for the better ballistics. And without the muzzle break I think I'd be more popular at the range :) It may look funny, but the Dissipator is probably the best performing AR carbine out there, since it has the full length sight radius.

I just called AIM they have the M4 A3 with the izzy in stock for $820. I like the look of the izzy more so I am leaning in that direction,
